lovely postcards of summer!
That dahlia is magnificent! We are winding down here too. It's hard to believe that there are just two weeks left of holidays. Helen x
I'm trying to hold own to these days too, they are really going by so fast, too fast. I love seeing all your beautiful photos. Enjoy your week.
Such beautiful photos! I'm treasuring summer too. It makes me wonder why the heck I live somewhere where there is six months of winter.Wishing you a lovely day.xoxo
Thank you for the photo of the carnival, I do love the bagpipes! Summer seems to be winding down now and the plants are just about exhausted but I'm looking forward to the various colours of autumn. xx
I just found your blog and wanted to say how great your photography is! I smiled at so many of your photos. :)
Thank you for that :) nice to find you too xx
Lucky you with your dahlias! I adore them but mine are not doing well and I am not sure they will bloom. I am going to replace the bulbs next year. I think they used up so much energy the first year that it wore them out. Do you buy new bulbs each year or overwinter yours? We had the Highland games in the north of Holland but missed them. I hope to see them one year since they are in the village where we have our cottage up there. I love hearing bagpipes and remember going to the games where my cousins competed. Hugs from Holland ~Heidi
Hi - this is the first year I have had them here. I used to overwinter in the ground, but I think I will lift them and store undercover, as th ground can get waterlogged here xx
You are right, the summer is winding down. It just occurred to me today when I was pulling out broad beans and cutting down old tayberry canes. The season is moving on. I'm not really ready to let go yet though. Great photos, I particularly love the last one.
Thank you :). My husband always thinks of August as the start of Autumn. I like to hold on for another month!xx
